  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract or the seeds of one vanilla bean (optional)
  • Additional sugar for sprinkling on top


Procedures

  1. Preheat your oven to about 325°F (that's 160°C)
  2. Afterwards you prepare your baking pan. So this by lining your baking pan with parchment paper 
  3. In a bowl, mix the sugar and softened butter together until they cream together and are light and fluffy
  4. Although the vanilla is optional, but if you have it, add it to the butter and sugar mixture and mix well.
