Hello guys, since a lot of us have been requesting for the ofada recipe,well here it is!

Ofada sauce recipe and preparation

Ofada is a popular food among the Western Yoruba people of Nigeria, although it's is now enjoyed by everybody, owning to the numerous health benefits.

Preparing it is very easy to prepare, infact it's almost the same as preparing any other type of rice.

How to cook ofada rice


PROCEDURES
  • Wash your ofada rice
  • Put in a pot and place under low heat
  • Add a little bit of vegetable oil and salt to taste.
  • Leave for about 35 minutes,or till it gets soft.

Ofada stew recipe

  • Pepper(tomatoes,rodo or tatashè)
  • Palm oil
  • Locust beans
  • Fishes
  • Meat(beef or any of your choice)
  • Cow skin (ponmo)
  • Boiled eggs (optional)
  • Onions (very important)
  • Seasonings (I prefer knorr)
  • Salt
Now let's get cooking

OFADA SAUCE PREPARATION

  • Blend your pepper together using the pulse button on your blender (to give it the required texture)
  • Heat your palm oil under low heat for about ten minutes.
  • Cut your onions in ring size,and add to the oil that is been heated up.leave for about five minutes.

This step is important, as the onions tend to add a unique taste to the food.

  • Add your locust beans to the mixture on the fire.
  • After few minutes,add your already blended pepper into the the pot and close for about 10 minutes.
  • After 10 minutes,add your salt and seasonings.then leave for another 7-12 minutes (depending on the heat of your gas cooker)
