Homemade Shawarma - How To Make Chicken Shawarma [4 STEPS]

Below are the best tips and tricks for making the perfect homemade chicken shawarma.

We all might have seen and probably eaten shawarma roll before, but don't know how to make one. well, that is the main purpose of this article, well I will clearly explain how it's made.

CHICKEN SHAWARMA INGREDIENTS

  • Cabbage
  • Carrot
  • Fresh tomatoes (optional)
  • Sweet corn(optional)
  • Dry grounded garlic and ginger(optional)
  • Sausage (hot dog)
  • Beta or Lebanese bread(shawarma bread)
  • Tomato ketchup
  • Soft chicken or fryer(can be bought in malls and supermarkets) or beef
  • Dry grounded pepper (commonly known as Ata gungun)
  • Soy sauce
  • Onions

CHICKEN SHAWARMA WRAP RECIPE

STEP 1:

Shred your cabbage and soak in salty water for about five minutes, then drain with a sieve. Scrape the carrot, wash, and shred, then dice the onions.

STEP 2:

Spice and cook your chicken, make sure to remove the skin and bones, then shred them into pieces.

STEP 3:

In a hot pan(or pot), put on the heat, at the right temperature, add a tbsp of oil and diced onions, add the shredded chicken, add soy sauce and stir, then put out the heat and pour the mixture into a bowl, add cabbage and other veggies and your grounded pepper.

In another container, mix some quantity of ketchup and mayonnaise, add to the vegetable mixture and stir gently.

STEP 4:

Prepare your shawarma bread, and add the remaining quantity of ketchup and mayonnaise mixture to the base of your bread. Add vegetable mixture to one side of the bread, including the hot dog then close the bread.

You can use a hot frying pan to seal the shawarma if you don't have a shawarma sealer.

Simple isn't it? Shawarma isn't as hard as people do think it is, it just takes a bit of time that's all.
