Hibiscus tea recipe [Create in 30 minutes]

Hibiscus tea,Zobo tea

While growing up, I've always loved drinking hibiscus tea, we do call it zobo in my country, Nigeria, and even without knowing the health benefits, we enjoy drinking it. Now I have taken it upon myself to teach you how to make zobo tea.

Right from when I was eleven or twelve years old, I used to make it, I'll get and wash the hibiscus tea leaves, boil and wait for it to get cool in the freezer (though I used to take a sip, or maybe a lot of sips of the hot zobo drink).

I made one last Saturday, and it popped in my head to share with you this quick tea recipe.

So, here we are. You might ask yourself, what is the health benefit of drinking hibiscus tea? Well here are a few health benefits:

Zobo is one of the most common quick tea to make, follow these easy steps
  1. Get and rinse your zobo leaves.
  2. Place your already rinsed leaves in a big pot and pour in a reasonable amount of water(making sure it's not too much, but put in mind that the water should be a little bit over the zobo leaves).
  3. Peel and dice your pineapple, pour it into the pot, and do the same with your Ginger.
  4. Place the pot on fire under medium heat and allow to boil for about 20-30 minutes
  5. Gently put it down and allow it to cool in a big bowl for a few minutes, then put in your sugar and sweetener and stir.
  6. Pour your zobo drink into a container (I normally use empty soft drinks container) then store it in a refrigerator for better enjoyment.
Enjoy your drink

TIPS TO NOTE

* If you're concerned with using hibiscus tea to lose weight, then skip the sugar and sweetener part, and also the use of any sweetened powder or flavor, this is where the use of pineapple comes in most for you, just dice in enough pineapple in your hibiscus tea and enjoy yourself.

*Avoid the use of hibiscus flowers that's was fertilized with chemicals, as this is very bad for your health.

*Avoid the use of excessive sugar, too much sugar as we know will cause diabetes and other diseases.
